CRECER New Mexico Grant Application
CRECER New Mexico offers competitive grants to licensed providers with the goal of increasing high quality child care. The grants are made possible through the New Mexico Early Childhood Education and Care Department. Licensed child care homes can receive up to $10,000 and licensed centers can receive up to $10,000 per classroom. Grant funds can be used to upgrade classrooms and increase high-quality licensed capacity.
Grants can be used for minor repairs, training to increase staff qualifications, costs related to increasing FOCUS star level, or to purchase safety equipment and other supplies that increase your quality.

We will only be issuing 100 grants and accepting applications through May 31, 2024 or until funds run out. Please schedule a consultation as soon as possible as each application is not guaranteed.
Prioritization of awards will be given in the following order:
Expansions and/or improvements to Infant/Toddler care (0-35 months)
a. Expansions and/or improvements to 3-5 year old care
Expansions and/or improvements to programs utilizing the child care assistance program
Increasing quality capacity
a. 2-3 Focus star level increasing to 4-5 star level
b. 4-5 Focus star level increasing capacity or filling slots
Other priorities include:
Environmental improvements
Programmatic improvements
Addition/expansion of non-traditional hours
Weekends
Overnights
Additional shift(s) outside 8am-5pm
Addition/expansion of before and after care (including elementary school-aged children)
Expansions and/or improvements of care in child care deserts
